Vinnies Queensland’s Pimpama announcement was published on 28 May 2026 and gave Saturday 30 May as the grand opening date. The earlier version of this article incorrectly treated the announcement date as the opening date. This corrected archive report was checked 4 October 2026.

The announcement and the date it gives

The Vinnies Queensland primary announcement described an 800-square-metre store at Home Focus Pimpama, 75 Nexus Drive, and called it the Gold Coast’s biggest Vinnies. The size and description are the operator’s claims, not measurements from a site visit by our team.

The announcement invited shoppers to a 30 May opening. It does not establish the shop’s donation capacity today, a permanent collection service or acceptance of every item. A larger retail floor is not proof that a particular load can be received.

Check the current shop record before travelling

The current official Pimpama shop-finder entry lists Shop B4, 3 Nexus Drive. That differs from the address in the launch announcement. Check the operator’s current contact and directions before travelling; this article does not establish why those two official records differ.

Ask the shop about today’s trading and donation hours and the receiving point. Describe the type and quantity of your donation, especially for furniture, electrical goods or a large clothing clear-out. Don’t rely on May’s launch hours as a guarantee of October arrangements.

For a shopping visit, confirm access and then inspect items for the use you intend. An opening announcement cannot tell you current stock, prices, change-room availability or the quietest time of the week.

Plan donations around confirmed acceptance

Keep clothing clean, dry and in resalable condition, then check the receiving charity’s item policy. Take the load to the agreed handover point. If it can’t be accepted, take it away rather than leaving bags outside the door.

Use the donation handover guide and the sorting checklist to prepare your enquiry. The eligibility checker is a planning aid; the shop confirms the actual load.

Browse op shop locations for nearby alternatives. This note reports the May announcement and corrects its date; it does not present the opening as a new October event. Other dated charity-shop reports are in op shop news.
