Vinnies Pimpama Gold Coast Shop Opened 28 May 2026

31 Aug 2026 2 min read Updated August 2026

Updated 31 August 2026. St Vincent de Paul Queensland announced that the Vinnies Pimpama Gold Coast shop, billed as the Coast’s biggest, opened in Pimpama on 28 May 2026. For donors, that is a staffed, high-volume drop-off, not a reason to leave bags at a full bin in a Coomera car park.

Why a large-format shop changes the donation job

Outlet and mega stores exist because small shops cannot absorb house clear-outs. A Pimpama-sized floor is built to take clothing volume that would choke a suburban strip Vinnies. It is still a shop with opening hours. After-hours piles are still dumping.

If you are clearing a wardrobe on the northern Gold Coast, phone the store first for pauses, then take clean, bagged clothing to the counter. Furniture and whitegoods remain store-specific. The national Vinnies donate-goods page still says some electricals and furniture need a local check.

Don’t treat “biggest on the Gold Coast” as a skip for stained mattresses. Large stores sort more. They do not magically sell unsellable stock.

How this sits with everyday donate rules

The standing how-to is how to donate to an op shop. City clothing drop-offs: Sydney, Melbourne, Perth. Browse nearby shops on locations. More charity-network notes: news.

If you are in Brisbane or Logan rather than Pimpama, this opening does not move your nearest counter. It is one more large-format option on the Coast, on Vinnies’ own announcement, dated 28 May 2026.

What still needs a local check

The national Vinnies donate-goods page still says electricals, furniture and some bulky items depend on the shop. A mega store sorts more clothing. It does not rewrite product-safety rules on car seats, helmets or stained mattresses. Phone Pimpama (or your nearer branch) if the load is more than bagged clothes.

Opening hours and donation pauses still sit with that store. A 28 May launch does not mean a 24-hour chute. If the dock is closed, take the bags home. After-hours piles at a new shop look the same as dumping at an old one, and councils on the Gold Coast already treat them that way.

Queensland heat in a closed car wrecks clothing before it reaches a sorter. Don’t leave winter knits in the boot from a Saturday house clear-out until Monday. Wash, bag, and hand over while staff are there.
