What The Good Find sells

According to shop manager Sindi Lefort, speaking to the Maribyrnong & Hobsons Bay Star Weekly in June 2026, the store stocks both new and pre-loved clothing with an emphasis on wearable, stylish pieces in excellent condition. Racks include women’s and men’s fashion, accessories, and one-off finds, from everyday staples to designer and boutique labels.

Plan two or three weekday visits if a specific size matters. Stock turns over as volunteers price new bags, and there’s no weekend put-out to catch up on.

Expect fewer toys and random kitchen gadgets than a suburban Salvos. That’s by design: the auxiliary is aiming for a tidy fashion floor that hospital staff can shop in a lunch break.

Opening hours and location

Services moved from 160 Gordon Street to the new Ballarat Road campus in February 2026. Don’t head to the old Gordon Street site; it’s decommissioning and the old auxiliary shop there is closed. Phone ahead if you’re driving from the west with limited time. Volunteer cover can mean a short-notice close, and Google Maps still surfaces the Gordon Street pin for some people.

Where the money goes

Every purchase at The Good Find raises funds for Western Health. The Maribyrnong Auxiliary is part of the Western Health Foundation network, which supports hospital equipment, patient comfort, and special projects across Footscray, Sunshine, Williamstown, and Bacchus Marsh. Even a single item helps fund auxiliary grants that sit outside the main hospital budget.
